NURAGIC ASKOS JUG
Nuragic askos jug is a type of ancient ceramic vessel shaped like an askos, a traditional form with a characteristic rounded or animal-like shape, often with a handle and a spout. It originated from the Nuragic civilization, which thrived in Sardinia from approximately 1800 to 238 BC during the Bronze and Iron Ages.
These jugs were used primarily for pouring liquids, such as water or oil, and sometimes served ritual or ceremonial purposes. Their distinctive form and craftsmanship reflect the advanced pottery techniques of the Nuragic people, and they are often found in archaeological sites throughout Sardinia.
